Junior Club Playing Philosophy
The
philosophy of the Club is set out to provide all
players, coaches and parents of players with a clear
understanding of what the Club’s expectation is as to a
player’s participation during the season. If a player
feels that the stated philosophy is not being fairly
adhered to, they should report any concerns either to a
member of the Management Committee or directly to the
Junior Club Convenor who will consider and act
accordingly on the matter.
-
Saturday Play – while these games are played
in a competitive manner within the spirit of
cricket, the first and foremost principle is that
every member of a team gets over the course of the
season a similar opportunity to participate in the
game.
-
Representative Play – these games are played
in a competitive manner with the primary focus of
the team being the winning of the game within the
rules and the spirit of cricket. Not all players may
get an equal opportunity to participate at this
level or within a game at this level. “
